Situated above a scenic viewpoint at the edge of Harlech village, Maelgwyn House commands stunning views of the Llyn Peninsula and Tremadog Bay, the Dwyryd estuary, Morfa Harlech, a National Nature Reserve, Harlech Castle and the Royal St David's golf course.

Maelgwyn House is ideally situated for exploring Snowdonia National Park, the Rhinog Mountains and the Llyn Peninsula, Porthmadog and Portmeirion.

We can organise fly fishing trips to our mountain lakes with an expert guide and all equipment supplied. We can also arrange nature walks, bird watching and mushroom hunting (when in season). Ask us about these activities when you book your room.

The Accommodation at Maelgwyn House

We offer a choice of king size rooms and twin rooms. All rooms are en-suite and have flat screen TV, DVD player, and tea and coffee making facilities. All of our rooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard. The two rooms at the front of the house offer spectacular views across Tremadog Bay. The other rooms have views across the garden and to the surrounding hills. If you can't quite cope with "getting away from it all" we now offer WiFi.

The breakfast choices include:

full Welsh breakfast with locally sourced ingredients
fruit, porridge and cereals
a selection of breads with homemade jams and marmalades.
If you have any particular dietary requirements please let us know, and we will do our best to meet them.

Room 5 - rear-facing room with hill views and two full-size single beds. £75.00 per night

Rates frozen for the third year running. Get away for 2008 prices. Rates for 2010/11 are still £65.00-£85.00 GBP per room per night, bed and breakfast.Bank Holidays, Easter, New Year prices: £80.00-£95.00 GBP per room per night.

Getting Here

Maelgwyn House is situated in the centre of Harlech, just south of the castle. From the centre of the village, follow the main street south (the B4573). Maelgwyn House is on the left hand side of the road opposite the view point.

Access: We regret that due to the historic nature of the building and the bedrooms being situated on the upper floors, we are currently unable to offer wheelchair friendly accommodation.
