Description of property

Hen Dafarn, is a spacious townhouse in Conwy, dating from the 15th century and recently updated to provide modern convenience amid period detail. 

Conwy is a medieval walled town with a magnificent castle. It is a World Heritage Site. The Castle is nestled against a picturesque quay and set against the stunning mountainous backdrop of the Snowdonia National Park. The circuit of walls over three quarters of a mile long is guarded by 22 towers and is one of the finest in the World. 

Hen Dafarn is located on a narrow but quiet residential street in the center of town. It is sited within the town walls of this small historic town and makes an ideal base being just a few minutes’ walk from the castle, a lovely marina which hosts many fairs and festivals, specialist and national shops, quality restaurants and traditional pubs. 

The Accommodation

DOWNSTAIRS:
Open plan spacious living room with comfortable seating and a large stone inglenook with gas fired fireplace and attached dining area. The living area opens onto a large modern kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Contemporary folding doors lead straight out into the large slate-flagged south facing courtyard garden. 

UPSTAIRS:
First and second floor with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

First floor contains a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a modern bathroom with over the bath shower. 

Second floor is totally taken up with an impressive mezzanine double bedroom whose windows open out to views of Conwy Castle and the Church Bell Tower. An ensuite shower room completes the suite. 

The kitchen has just recently been remodeled and all utilities are brand new. The kitchen comes nicely equipped with all of the modern utensils and cookware that you will need, provided you do not eat all of your meals at the excellent pubs and restaurants in Conwy and the nearby towns. 

All bed and bath linens, tea towels, electricity and gas for heating, lighting and hot water are included in the rental cost. There is gas central heating that works well and the gas fired stove is so efficient that you will need to keep it low or you will overheat. 

The cottage is immaculately prepared for you and all beds are made prior to your arrival. A welcome pack provides some food essentials to get you started. 

There is a south facing patio at the back of Hen Dafarn that you can enjoy in good weather. A BBQ and comfortable seating invites you to enjoy the warm evenings in the summer. 

There is also plenty of fresh air to be had by walking down to the quay, local beaches, around the castle walls or across the bridge to Deganwy. Snowdonia National Park, and the Conwy valley with their wonderful countryside are close by. 

There is limited parking on the street outside the house or parking in the town parks for a small fee.


2012 Price Schedule:

£395 - £750 per week (7 NIGHTS) 
Short breaks also available at certain times of the year. The price includes heat, light, hot water, loan of bed linen and towels. There are no hidden extras!  


Property feedback
Accommodation was excellent. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard, and a lot of thought has gone into the modernisation of the property. It was well equipped with modern appliances, wifi and BT vision. Would definitely recommend. Was going to book for next year, but it's already booked up.

A lovely cottage, much bigger than expected, modernised to a lovely standard with everything to make our stay very comfortable. With all the attractions of Conwy 5 minutes walk away it couldn't have been in a better location.
